I hope George Bush likes headlines like this one, because he's going to see a lot of them in the future.
[Edit: Dan points out Fred Kaplan's excellent article on Salon that indicates the worst part of this deal is not the possible repercussions in Pakistan-Indian relations, which are never truly stable, but the fact that last year the American government is giving nuclear materials to a nuclear power that has not signed the Nonproliferation Treaty.
Kaplan points out that the problem is the United States has effectively side-stepped the NPT in making this deal, which it has no authority to do. What now can they say if China or Russia makes similar deals with Pakistan or Iran?]
